Purpose and Objectives

The Foreign Policy Technical and Research Division of the Afghanistan Professionals Hub (APH) is established with a broad and dynamic purpose: to fortify Afghanistan's foreign policy and bolster professional expertise in this critical field. We are dedicated to:

Facilitating Professional Growth:    Through workshops, networking events, and mentorship programs, we aim to cultivate a fertile ground for professional development, ensuring that Afghan policymakers and experts are at the forefront of diplomacy and international relations.

Expanding Opportunities and Capacities: We are committed to enhancing the capabilities of individuals in the foreign policy arena by offering training, sharing job opportunities, and engaging in capacity-building initiatives for a robust diplomatic corps.

Strengthening Policy Foundations: Leveraging rigorous research and technical expertise, our division provides innovative solutions and evidence-based policy recommendations, enhancing Afghanistan’s diplomatic influence and aligning our foreign policy with the nation’s overarching goals.

Scope of Work

Our division’s scope of work encompasses the following key areas:

Comprehensive Research: Undertaking analytical studies on geopolitical trends, regional security, economic alliances, and human rights, providing a solid knowledge base to inform and shape foreign policy.

Policy Formulation and Advocacy: Crafting strategic policy directives based on meticulous research and advocating for positions that protect and promote Afghanistan’s national interests.

Technical and Analytical Support: Offering in-depth technical advice and subject matter expertise to policymakers and diplomats to fortify decision-making and strategic planning.

Monitoring and Strategic Evaluation: Assessing the efficacy and impact of foreign policy actions, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, and fostering adaptability in policy formulation.

Enhanced Collaboration: Promoting partnerships and synergies with a wide array of foreign policy actors to amplify the reach and impact of Afghanistan’s international efforts.

Public Engagement and Awareness: Conducting outreach programs to elevate public and international understanding of Afghanistan’s foreign policy objectives.

Resource Dissemination: Serving as a hub for pertinent information, our division curates and shares invaluable resources, reports, and scholarly works to support informed diplomatic endeavors.

By converging networking, mentorship, advocacy, research, and collaborative projects under one umbrella, the Foreign Policy Technical and Research Division is poised to empower professionals and elevate Afghanistan’s standing in the global arena.

Membership

The Foreign Policy Division shall consist of a diverse assembly of individuals with expertise in international relations, diplomacy, security policy, and related fields. Members must be dedicated to enhancing Afghanistan's foreign policy and committed to actively contributing to the Division's initiatives.

Meetings

The Foreign Policy Division is expected to convene on a regular basis (e.g., monthly or quarterly) to discuss developments, evaluate the progress of ongoing initiatives, and strategize for upcoming endeavors. Detailed minutes of these meetings shall be meticulously recorded and disseminated amongst the wider Afghanistan Professionals Hub community to ensure transparency and collective insight into the Division's operations.

Membership in APH is open to all capable and accomplished individuals, regardless of gender, who are involved in various fields including but not limited to education, health, agriculture, rural development, natural resources management, economics and banking, infrastructure development, private sector development, rule of law, women empowerment, religious and social affairs.
Membership is available to any professional or specialist, whether residing inside or outside the country, who has a proven track record of integrity and commitment for contributing to the development of Afghanistan. Prospective members must accept the principles and provisions of the APH Charter and commit to upholding its objectives.
By joining APH, members will be provided with a user name and password for the online portal of the Afghanistan Professionals Hub, where they will be able to access events, workshops, conferences, training programs, and can communicate with other experts, access online resources, feasibility studies, development project reports and research materials.
